Oxfordshire Youth hits 75: ultra marathon of fundraising events!

1 August 2022

As if raising a young family and running an ambitious youth organisation weren’t enough to be getting on with, our super-driven CEO has just completed a gruelling ultra marathon – running an unbelievable 100 kilometres to kick-start OY’s 75th birthday fundraising campaign.

We are aiming to raise £75,000 this year through individual giving, and Jodie’s personal fundraising target for the race is £5,000. Having already lost toenails during her training for Race to the Stones, she set out from near Chinnor at 8am, passing through Wallingford and Goring then pounded into Wiltshire towards Ogbourne St. George and Barbury Castle, finally reaching the Avebury Stone Circle finish line at around 10 pm.

If you want to help Jodie push her fundraising over the finish line, thank you for your generosity, you can donate here

As an organisation, OY has a thriving Wellbeing group made up of staff and with the mental and physical health benefits of running being well known, perhaps Jodie has inspired you to get your running shoes on. Join the Oxfordshire Youth team of runners for the Oxford Half Marathon and we will pay your entry fee and support you all the way. Get training tips, a running vest, help and advice by catching up with Team OY here.
