Celebrate good times, come on in!
Come and join our party! Take your virtual seat at Oxford’s New Theatre, sit back, tuck into your popcorn and feel the love. The curtain goes up at 7pm on Monday 17th November when you can just click here to enjoy a fantastic night’s entertainment in celebration of our next generation of athletes, entrepreneurs, artists, activists and community movers and shakers.
Our nominees are excelling in all areas – creating new inventions to save the planet from climate change, training for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, hoovering up music, business, STEM and artistic awards and fighting to make the world a kinder place from neighbourhood to global level.
Over one hundred 8-21-year-olds have been nominated by members of the public for the eight awards and in between sharing the joy as winners receive their trophies, you’ll get to watch a spectacular night of dance, acrobatic dance, acoustic and hip hop performers.
Your headline acts are Jen Berkova, and Messy Jam. Jen, an Oxford singer/songwriter born in Paris to Russian and Congolese parents, combines elements of soul, Afro pop and R&B in her music and pairs heartfelt lyrics with intersecting rhythms and percussions to create a whole new sound. Messy Jam is a diverse, community-based dance school from Oxford. They lend performers to Justin Bieber, won an astonishing 51 trophies at a recent dance competition, perform at the annual city-wide celebration Dancin’ Oxford, and rocked Britain’s Got Talent.
It’s Oxfordshire Youth’s 75th anniversary year so we’re giving it our all to make this post-COVID, comeback event the best Youth Awards ever!
