Each year, Newsquest Oxfordshire, the parent company of the Gannett Foundation, invites applications from registered charities looking for grants of between £5,000 and £10,000.
The grants should be for practical and creative projects that bring lasting benefits to the communities and neighbourhoods served by Newsquest Oxfordshire. Examples include schemes for neighbourhood improvement and local problem-solving, economic development, youth development, education and cultural enrichment, care of the elderly or infirm, help for the disadvantaged or disabled, and environmental conservation.
The Gannet Foundation particularly invites clearly reasoned applications asking for specific items of equipment or materials. Most grants will be awarded for relatively modest sums meeting every-day needs, but the foundation will also consider worthwhile larger scale projects. The foundation is also able to join with other contributors to support elements of more ambitious projects. While preference will be given to ideas which create a durable legacy for the community, single events or projects of limited duration that otherwise meet its criteria will also be considered.

Note that the deadline for applications is Friday, 18th October 2019.
