Oxfordshire Youth are pleased to be working in partnership with other organisations to facilitate a cross-sector, inter-generational conversation about how we can work together to overcome loneliness.

In August 2018 UK Youth published the ground breaking report A Place to Belong which laid out in stark terms how important youth services are for young people’s sense of connectedness and belonging in the face of increasing issues of loneliness. This report was followed by a UK wide, government-led strategy to combat loneliness A Connected Society.

In this context, Oxfordshire Youth is working with Age UK Oxfordshire, Archway Foundation, Active Oxfordshire, Diocese of Oxford, Oxfordshire Mind, Oxfordshire Safeguarding Adults Board and Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children’s Board to deliver a truly joined up conversation about overcoming loneliness in Oxfordshire.

“Lets’ Talk About Loneliness” will be held on the 8th October at The Kings Centre in Oxford and will be a place for professionals, volunteers and concerned parties to come together to find solutions. If you want to be there please save the date and keep an eye out for future posts with news of speakers, workshop leaders and booking.
