Grants of up to £10,000 are now available from the #iwill Fund for organisations across the UK for projects that help young people support each other through bereavement.

The Co-op Foundation’s #iwill Fund will make up to five grants of up to £10,000 for social action projects that give young people the skills they need to provide peer support for those dealing with bereavement. The grants could also be used to help young people draw on their experiences to recommend how local services can help other bereaved young people.

Co-op Funeralcare’s ‘biggest ever survey’ found that young people are most likely to bottle up grief and be left out of social arrangements because of bereavement. This funding will look to address these issues and will feed into Co-op’s community plan to improve wellbeing across the UK. You can read more about this at: www.coop.co.uk/communities.

The grants will be for one year. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to re-apply for up to two years’ further funding, to build on their learning and focus on sustaining their impact. Organisations have until 12pm (noon) on Friday 3 April to apply.
