Brilliant news! Over 130 volunteers have been able to donate more time to local charities thanks to South Oxfordshire District Council’s volunteering grant. That represents an extra 5000 hours of volunteering time. Fantastic!

To date, more than £14,000 has been distributed to local sports and community groups by the council as part of its pilot volunteering grant project. But they don’t have to be the only ones! There is still time for other local groups to apply.

The grant can be used to provide more training for your volunteers or sports coaches, perform DBS checks, or buy specialist/protective equipment. For example, your volunteers could attend one of our Learning and Development courses such as our next Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work. But don’t wait too long to apply. The deadline for application is noon on Friday 9th August 2019, subject to available budget.

This scheme is open to small voluntary, community and social enterprise groups operating in South Oxfordshire. Eligible organisations can apply for a grant from £250 to a maximum of £750. You can find out more and apply for the grant on the South Oxfordshire District Council website.
