Young people  across Oxfordshire want better access to more sport and physical activities. Acting on their suggestions, Oxford City Community Impact Zone, working with Active Oxfordshire and local providers, have identified gaps in provision and are working to increase opportunities in the community.

They are looking for organisations to apply for funding to run regular weekly sports and physical activity sessions under a programme called “Satellite clubs”. These clubs will support young people that are under-represented in terms of physical activity in the county and/or do not have easy access to sport’s facilities. These are:

  • Females (aged 14-19)

  • Young people with special educational needs or disability

  • Young people from deprived backgrounds

  • Young people with mental ill health

Can you help?

Funding of up to £2,500 is available to support ‘Satellite Clubs’  running activities aimed at these target groups within the Community Impact Zone. If you are interested, please visit the Community Impact Zone website for more information and to apply for funding, Note that the deadline for this round of applications is Wednesday 11th September 2019.
