The South Oxford Adventure Playground (SOAP) is recruiting play workers of all levels to help run after school sessions. It is also looking for Youth workers to join an exciting team for the relaunch of its weekly, popular Youth Club.
Hourly rates depend on age and experience. SOAP can offer up to 15 hrs per week after school (approximately 3-5.30 pm), and/or 2 hrs every week during school term with the youth club. After school sessions will run every week day until the end of October. Applicants should be committed and enthusiastic, have a genuine passion for play, be able to empower children and young people, and work in a team. Qualifications in Play work level 2/3 or equivalent are desired but not essential.
SOAP is a unique play facility. It offers adventurous, explorative, inclusive, and free-flow play opportunities for children and young people aged 7 to 14 years. It has swings of various sizes, slides, an aerial runway, a huge climbing tower, football and table tennis, trees to climb and an indoor space, all set in an expansive green fenced area.
SOAP promotes social inclusion and provides the opportunity and support for children from all backgrounds to play alongside each other. While it is supervised, SOAP is not childcare. SOAP Access is free and open, so children and young people can sign in and out as they please.
For more information or to apply, please send a CV and cover letter to Megan Douthwaite. Successful applicants will be required to undertake DBS checks (costs met by employer). SOAP is an equal opportunities employer.
