INEQE Safeguarding group have written an article defining online ‘trolling’ and have highlighted research that explores and identifies possible affects it can have on young people!

Often people who ‘troll’ don’t recognise that what they are doing is ‘trolling’ and instead see it as a bit of fun. Writing a comment or messaging is not the only way to ‘troll’ and in fact sharing or liking something someone else has written is also considered ‘trolling’ and can have lasting affects on individuals.

The article explores ways to talk to young people about ‘trolling’ and provides helpful resources to help adults and young people understand what the act is and the affects it can have.
