Operational Lead Trustee

Didcot TRAIN – Inspiring Young People, registered charity no.1176258 works with and for all young people in Didcot, especially those who, for whatever reason, are having a tough time. Our vision is for all the young people of Didcot and the surrounding area to be empowered to grow into social and personal stability.

TRAIN’s work includes the following activities:
– Group and one to one mentoring of young people
– Regular and sustained detached and outreach youth work
– Term-time and school holiday activities and residential trips
– Life skills development sessions
– Youth participations and social action programmes

We are looking for an individual with experience of managing services to join our board as our Operational Lead Trustee. This will include delivering line management to two posts, and working with fellow Trustees to shape the strategic and developmental direction of the charity’s operations. We welcome interest from those looking to share established knowledge as well as those looking to develop their own skills and experience through of charitable governance. Most importantly, we are seeking an individual who cares about the
futures of young people.

Commitments include attendance at a monthly trustee meeting, a monthly skype call and monthly supervision of two posts. This is an anticipated time commitment of 8 hours per month.

If you would like to make an important contribution to this vibrant local charity and would like further information about the role of Trustee and the work of TRAIN, please contact Luke O’Neil by email to arrange an exploratory conversation: luke@didcottrain.org.uk
