Kevin Gordon, Director of Children’s Services, Oxfordshire County Council, told Youth in Mind 2022, “We are facing a tsunami of mental health problems for children and young people and unless we do things differently we won’t be able to meet demand.”

His alarm, sounded at last year’s conference, compels us to come together. Against a back-drop of budget constraints and service cuts, it is vital that statutory services, school and voluntary organisation staff seize this opportunity for cross-sector creative thinking and problem solving if we are to continue supporting our children and young people.
