Tackling digital poverty and giving young people the tools to thrive in a connected world.
Digital Natives is an Oxfordshire Youth-led initiative designed to tackle digital poverty and give young people the tools to thrive in a connected world.
The programme began in 2024 through a pilot partnership with Intel® and Insight, which helped us launch and test this innovative approach to digital inclusion.
Building on the success of that pilot, Oxfordshire Youth now leads the expanded programme which is co-designed with young people and focused on providing lasting digital skills, creativity, and opportunity across Oxfordshire.
This short film, created in partnership with Intel® and Insight, highlights the origins of our Digital Natives project and the powerful impact of its pilot year in Oxfordshire.
Our research with over 300 young people in Oxfordshire found:
Behind the myth of the “digital native” lies a serious digital divide. Digital Natives bridges that gap by equipping young people with skills, access, and opportunity.
Intensive, hands-on learning experiences for 11–21 year old young people during school holidays. Young people explore web design, video editing, game design, and AI while working on social impact projects.

Our work so far has already shown that:
Behind every statistic is a young person, practitioner or organisation whose story brings our impact to life. Our case studies show how youth work changes trajectories, builds confidence, and creates opportunities – whether that’s a young person finding stability, a practitioner developing new skills, or a local organisation strengthening its provision.
These real-world examples help us understand not just what is changing, but how and why change happens
