Do you want to help us find ways to support young people’s wellbeing at work?
Right now, 1 in 7 young people in the UK are not in education, employment or training. Many are also facing significant mental health challenges. You can be part of the solution—by helping us create new, better ways to support wellbeing in the workplace. Oxfordshire Youth is excited to be working in partnership with UK Youth on a powerful national project that explores how to support young people’s wellbeing at work.
This project is about giving young people a voice and a seat at the table. Together, we’re rethinking how employment support is designed and delivered—so that it truly works for young people, especially those who have lived experience of mental ill-health.
Wellbeing at Work is a two-phase programme designed to:
Support young people aged 16–25 with lived experience of mental ill-health.
Co-design real, meaningful solutions to improve workplace wellbeing.
Build the skills of both young people and employers to ensure workplaces are inclusive and supportive.
Phase 1 is all about research, co-creation, and collaboration. Young people will be part of a team across the UK helping to design new ways of supporting mental health in the workplace.
You’ll take part in five in-person sessions in Oxford and a two-day residential in the New Forest.
In-Person Sessions – Oxfordshire Youth Office (4:00–6:30 PM):
Wednesday 18 June 2025
Wednesday 25 June 2025
Wednesday 2 July 2025
Wednesday 9 July 2025
Wednesday 16 July 2025
Residential – Avon Tyrrell, New Forest:
Monday 21 – Tuesday 22 July 2025
All travel costs covered
Free food at every session
A £150 voucher of your choice upon completion
New skills, new connections, and a real chance to make a difference
We’re looking for young people who:
Are aged 16–25
Have lived experience of mental ill-health
Are passionate about making change
Can commit to the dates listed above
Extra life experience (like being NEET, care-experienced, or having advocacy experience) is welcomed but not required.
After Phase 1, we will be recruiting 6 young people for Phase 2: The Pilot Phase.
In Phase 2, selected young people will:
Take part in a work placement pilot programme
Attend a preparation week
Receive wrap-around support
Help test the employment model co-designed in Phase 1
Stay tuned—we’ll share more about Phase 2 soon!
