Do you want to help us find ways to support young people’s wellbeing at work?

Right now, 1 in 7 young people in the UK are not in education, employment or training. Many are also facing significant mental health challenges. You can be part of the solution—by helping us create new, better ways to support wellbeing in the workplace. Oxfordshire Youth is excited to be working in partnership with UK Youth on a powerful national project that explores how to support young people’s wellbeing at work.

This project is about giving young people a voice and a seat at the table. Together, we’re rethinking how employment support is designed and delivered—so that it truly works for young people, especially those who have lived experience of mental ill-health.

Help Us Co-Design a Better Future for Young People at Work

Phase 1 is all about research, co-creation, and collaboration. Young people will be part of a team across the UK helping to design new ways of supporting mental health in the workplace.

This is a unique opportunity to:

You’ll take part in five in-person sessions in Oxford and a two-day residential in the New Forest.

In-Person Sessions – Oxfordshire Youth Office (4:00–6:30 PM):

  • Wednesday 18 June 2025

  • Wednesday 25 June 2025

  • Wednesday 2 July 2025

  • Wednesday 9 July 2025

  • Wednesday 16 July 2025

Residential – Avon Tyrrell, New Forest:

  • Monday 21 – Tuesday 22 July 2025

  • All travel costs covered

  • Free food at every session

  • A £150 voucher of your choice upon completion

  • New skills, new connections, and a real chance to make a difference

We’re looking for young people who:

  • Are aged 16–25

  • Have lived experience of mental ill-health

  • Are passionate about making change

  • Can commit to the dates listed above

Extra life experience (like being NEET, care-experienced, or having advocacy experience) is welcomed but not required.

What Happens After Phase 1?

After Phase 1, we will be recruiting 6 young people for Phase 2: The Pilot Phase.
